When I'm in 3rd year I want to be just like....

After attending the final year show the word inspired doesn't come close. The unique designs and quality of the work was a true credit to the students dedication and talent. I could really sense the time and effort they put into their work and motivation of only the best will do. Below are a few cards that I picked up in the viscom studio. Each is unique and personal to the individuals and shows how committed they are to becoming successful.

Well done guys! :)

Our dear friend Maisie.

Who every said viscom solely consisted of macs, adobe and the dreaded typography was greatly mistaken!!  Don't get me wrong they are all very much key elements which we discovered last year but sometimes, just sometimes we get to, (dare I say it) have fun! And what better way to embrace these rare occasions than to sculpted a life sized granny from Smithfield.

I introduce you to Maisie........

its wonderful (or scary) what 4 viscomers can make from an old chair, a basket,  an exercise ball, a lampshade, lots of pap era  mache, spray paint and what ever else they may find on their travels

isn't she beautiful :)

Smithfield is always a good place to start

I didn't really know what to expect when I started 1st year viscom but one things for sure I definitely didn't think we would have been spending most of our days wondering the streets of Belfast, more specifically the neglected area that goes by the name of Smithfield.

However at what first looked like no more than empty shops and overflowing bins, lay inspiration that led to creative sketches and illustrations, and even beautiful photography.

If ever there were a place that screamed "look beneath the surface" Smithfield would win hands down.

"Plants cry their gratitude for the sun in green joy."

isn't there something beautiful about the composition?
